Website build, check! Now let’s grow the brand.

NYC Community Impact Partners (NYCCIP) came to us with a unique challenge: how could three companies (a parent company and its two subsidiaries) establish distinct brand identities when they shared a single website and one name was far more recognizable than the others? And after two decades with virtually no digital presence, how could they build credibility and widen their reach to showcase the impressive work they’ve done over the years?
Following the launch of NYCCIP’s newly redesigned website, they asked KBD to help develop and launch a social media strategy and social media content for all three companies across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. This meant creating and managing 10 social media accounts in total: one for each company on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, plus a shared YouTube channel.
Thankfully, we had a strong foundation to work from. NYCCIP’s website is robust, with a wealth of photo and video content and detailed write-ups on each project. Our job was to distill that material into social content and establish a regular posting cadence. Working directly with the client, we built a chronological list of the content they wanted to share over the next six months. From there, we developed a content calendar that tracked each post’s status, links to client-provided copy, and the platforms and company accounts each post would run on.
Using the website as a launching point, our designer developed distinct sub-brand identities for NYCCIP’s two subsidiaries: New York City Regional Center (NYCRC) and New York City Community Development (NYC-CDE). Since red, white, and blue are the parent brand’s primary colors, we used a different balance of those three colors to set each brand apart.
We organized the posts into five categories: Press Releases and Announcements, Industry Sectors, the Impact Series, Project Showcases, and General (for content that didn’t fit the other four). Our designer then created templates for each category, tailored to each company’s brand identity.
We launched the first week of content in mid-October 2026, and the calendar now runs through the end of April 2027. This is the most comprehensive social media overhaul we’ve taken on for a client, and we’re excited to keep refining the process as we expand it into a service offering for new clients.
