A new brand for Ellipsis Health and Sage

KBD met Ellipsis Health through the One Mind Accelerator, where the company was part of the portfolio. In January 2025 we began work on the company’s messaging, brand identity, website and investor deck. Our partner on the work was Founder and CEO Mainul Mondal.

Ellipsis Health began by using voice biomarkers to assess mental health, and its website led with clinical validation as the only validated vital sign for mental health. Over time the company built Sage, an AI care manager that conducts patient calls for healthcare organizations, handling assessments, program enrollment, care gap closures and follow-up. The company had begun putting Sage at the center of its story, but the brand and website still reflected where Ellipsis started.

Hearing is Believing

Ellipsis described Sage as “The Empathetic AI Care Manager.” Through stakeholder interviews and positioning research, KBD built a complete messaging platform around that idea, speaking directly to healthcare executives about expanding capacity, reducing costs and delivering consistent quality. Before every demo, the Ellipsis team would tell us “Hearing is believing.” We recognized it as the right tagline for the company and built the messaging around it.

KBD refreshed the Ellipsis Health corporate brand and created a distinct product identity for Sage, anchored by an owl mark that represents the wisdom and attentiveness at the heart of the product. The calm, modern design system carried through brand guidelines, a presentation template, sales collateral and a new website built around Sage’s voice and conversation experience.

Series A Raise

KBD also designed the investor deck Ellipsis used for its 2025 Series A. The company raised $45 million in a round led by Salesforce Ventures, with participation from Khosla Ventures and CVS Health Ventures. By the time the round closed, Ellipsis had a brand, website and story that matched the company it had become.
